The Boys & Girls Clubs of Kern County will be piloting a free Winter Day Camp in Arvin from December 26, 2016 through January 6, 2017 (Monday to Friday from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.) at the former Senior Center at 800 Walnut Drive. The Boys & Girls Club will be accepting the first 50 children (ages 7 to 12 years) for the free Winter Day Camp. Activities will include arts and crafts, sports, games and much more. In addition a healthy mid afternoon snack will be provided to all the children. Those interested in signing up their children need to call Becky or Margie at 661-845-4253 as soon as possible as the spots are filling up fast.
“The ultimate goal is to operate the Arvin Boys & Girls Club for children ages 5 to 17 after school as well as provide winter and summer day camps in the former Senior Center but funding needs to be secured. We are currently working with the City of Arvin to solicit funders and donors to help underwrite the program,” Zane Smith, Executive Director, Boys & Girls Clubs of Kern County.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Kern County currently has 3 Clubs and 59 school sites in Bakersfield, Arvin, Lamont and Frazier Park. Overall, there are 7,800 youth daily during the school year that are affected in a positive way through their involvement with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Kern County.
