Erika Madrigal was elected Councilmember of the City of Arvin on November 04, 2014, taking office in January of 2015. Councilmember Madrigal has been a resident of Arvin for over 15 years and is proud to call Arvin home. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a concentration in pre-law and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from California State University, Bakersfield (CSUB). She has been an active leader in her campus advocating for students’ rights and interest. She serves as a member of the Chicano Commencement Committee, which celebrates personal and academic achievements of Chicano/Latino students. She is also part of the Kern County’s Collaborative, neighborhood-based coalitions that identify and address local issues in the community. Currently, she is the Program Specialist for the CSUB, High School Equivalency Program, an educational equity program designed to help migrant and seasonal agricultural workers and their families to obtain a high school equivalency certificate.
