Message from the Chief

The Arvin Police Department is proud to offer superior service and protection for our residents, merchants, and visitors.  Today, we face many challenges as we provide law enforcement services to a rapidly changing society.  Often times we work with less resources and personnel, but we are still committed to continuing to deliver a high level of professional excellence in law enforcement management and service.  I am honored to represent the fine men and women sworn staff, civilians, and volunteers, who make up our team at this outstanding police department.

There is a focus on “Community- Based Policing” across the United States of America.  Inclusivity and transparency are crucial as we continue to push forward with leadership and law enforcement services in the 21st Century.  Teamwork is also imperative.  We must partner with the Community and allow everyone to get to know the human side of us.  We do a specific job that is different from any other job, but we are real people, and we love the Community of Arvin.  We will utilize hybrid models of Community-Oriented Policing such as Relationship-Based Policing and Principled Policing to protect and serve the City of Arvin.  The Arvin Police Department has always been a community police department.  Our team is assembled with Kern County residents who have a personal stake in keeping our Community safe.  We understand and believe in teamwork.  Our team members know that the bigger team consists of members from the Community who have partnered with us.  The Arvin Police Department has a strong commitment to addressing the quality-of-life issues, which will continue to guide our decisions and deployment of resources.  I am humbled and excited by the support I have received from the Community, City, and members of our strong team at the police department.

I trust you will enjoy our website.  Please let me know if you have any questions.
