The Chief’s Message
As police chief of the Arvin Police Department it is an honor to lead a cadre of professional men and women who strive to improve the quality of life of our citizens. Addressing crime concerns, providing aid to victims, and maintaining a presence in the community remain our core responsibilities; however, we believe there is so much more that adds to the quality of our policing efforts. As a department, we are committed to community partnerships, respecting diversity, and demonstrating empathy. We understand that life may present occasions that require contact with the police and it is our goal to provide services with respect, professionalism, and expertise.
These are exciting times for the Arvin Police Department. Currently, a concerted effort is being made to recruit new police officers and dispatchers. While the selection process may be arduous, I truly believe we will be hiring enthusiastic, caring employees who will respect the values, diversity, and history of our community.
We will also be creating a strategy that embraces the community policing philosophy and addresses quality of life issues in our community. Community policing involves organizational transformation, community partnerships, and problem solving. This type of policing requires a solid commitment to and understanding of community policing, but can be pivotal in making Arvin an even better place to live.
With a supportive community and City Council I feel privileged to have the opportunity to serve Arvin and its citizens. Add to the equation a quality police force, dedicated City employees, and committed community partners, I feel a great sense of pride and gratitude to be affiliated with such an outstanding organization. If you are ever in the area and would like to learn more about the department or our services, please feel free to contact me.
